Purkinje Label Printer Drivers & Setup Instructions

This step-by-step guide will walk you through adding a label printer to your computer for use with Purkinje Dispense on Windows XP. If you have questions please contact the Purkinje Helpdesk at 866-935-5469 or help@purkinje.com.

  1. Print these instructions
  2. Plug in the label printer to your network and to a power outlet.
    Turn it on by flipping the black switch on the right side of the printer.
  3. Log in to your computer as an administrator.
    If this requires that you logout of your computer you can reach this page again by visiting http://drivers.purkinje.com
  4. Download the label printer drivers by visiting http://drivers.purkinje.com/label.exe
    Click Run

  5. When the security warning appears click Run


  6. When the Winzip Self-Extractor appears click OK

  7. Uncheck the box that says "When done unzipping open .\Setup.exe"
    Click Unzip

  8. Click OK

  9. Click Close to exit from WinZip


  10. Click Start, then Printers and Faxes, and select Add a printer

  11. When the Add Printer Wizard displays click Next

  12. Select Local printer attached to this computer, Click Next

  13. Select Create a new port.
    From the "Type of Port" drop down menu select Standard TCP/IP Port.
    Click Next

  14. When the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard displays click Next


  15. In the "Printer Name or IP Address" field type the IP address for your label printer exactly as it appears on the back of your printer.
    Click Next

  16. Click Next


  17. Click Finish

  18. The Add Printer Wizard should still be open.
    Click Have Disk.


  19. Type C:\ZUD54616 in the dropdown menu.
    Click OK

  20. Under the Manufacturer column select Zebra EPL
    Under the Printers column select Zebra LP2824
    Click Next.


  21. When asked if you want to use this printer as the default printer select No
    Click Next

  22. Select Do not share this printer
    Click Next


  23. When asked if you want to print a test page click No
    Click Next

  24. Click Finish


  25. A hardware installation message with display, click Continue Anyway
    Files will copy at this point, this may take a few minutes.

  26. Click and choose the Zebra LP2824, then click OK.


  27. Click to send a test page to your printer.
  28. To send all labels to this printer check Logon and change location/printer when logging in to the Purkinje Browser.

  29. Choose Zebra LP2824 as your label printer and click Save Permanently

You have now successfully setup your label printer!
